Career Workshops
When you are looking to make a change in your life, having a good network of social support can help you make the transition all the easier.
At a Career Workshop you can meet others in a similar situation to you, whether looking to return to work after maternity leave or a longer break, during a redundancy process or planning a new career. While learning more about your skills, strengths, interests, values, motivation and goals you can build your confidence to move forward and support and encourages others at the same time. By building connections you not only increase your social support for your immediate change but for the ups and downs you encounter further on in your career.
Career Workshops can be tailored and designed around a particular company or group's needs, whether outplacement or personal development, or you can book onto one that suits your individual needs.
What does a Career Workshop cover?
A Career Workshop covers a combination of the following subjects::
Workshop Facilitators
I run Career Workshops with Rachel Wright of Wright Career.
Rachel is a licensed Career Coach and qualified HR professional. She is a Member of the CIPD. She has completed Career Coaching training accredited by the Association of Coaching, and studied Psychology at degree level.
Rachel has had first-hand experience of both sides of the recruitment process. She also understands the emotional and practical challenges of returning to work and balancing career and family commitments as following her second maternity leave, she set up her own Career Coaching business WrightCareer.
I came to the workshop as a first stepping stone to transition from stay at home mum to working mum. I was in need of direction and needed a helping hand as I was lacking in confidence.
I enjoyed the format of the workshop, meeting others in a similar position and discussing options and ideas. We were provided with a workbook and toolkit which I can now use and refer back to as I begin to search for work.
We have had several follow up sessions which are so helpful to keep momentum and tackle tricky tasks such as updating my CV and LinkedIn profile.
Charlotte, Godalming
Thank you so much for the workshop! At the end of 2016, I took some time out of my career to focus on my two young children.
At the start of this year, I started thinking about going back to work but found I was lacking focus about what my next role should be and also the confidence to even start looking for another job.
The workshop couldn't have come along at a better time. I found it so insightful and inspiring. Both Frances' and Rachel's advice has definitely given me a real boost to kick off my job search and I came away with lots of ideas bubbling.
Claire Trevethan, Career Returner & Mum of two
I joined the workshop to give myself a new focus for job hunting. I really enjoyed the opportunity to talk to others in the same situation and to share some hopes and fears! Rachel and Frances provided a relaxed environment in which to work through a variety of topics and their insight and support was really useful. I have come away with an action plan and I would definitely recommend this to other career returners!
